These terms cover your use of the Longbox app. By using Longbox, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the app.
Longbox is a reader for comic and ebook files that you already have. It opens files from your device, keeps track of where you are in them, and can look up publication information about them.
Longbox does not provide, host, sell, or distribute any comics or books. The app ships with no content. Every file you read in Longbox is one you supplied yourself, and it stays on your own device.
You are responsible for the files you add to Longbox, and for having the right to possess and read them. Don't use Longbox with material you aren't entitled to. We have no ability to see what you're reading — your files never reach our servers — which also means we cannot police it, and we don't try to.
An account is optional. Longbox works fully offline without one; signing in adds syncing across devices, backup of your reading progress, and leaderboards.
Your display name is visible to other users on leaderboards unless you turn that off in Settings → Privacy. Choose a name you're comfortable being public.
We may change or remove display names that impersonate someone else, are abusive, or are obviously offensive. We may also remove statistics that were clearly manipulated rather than earned by reading.

Publication data in Longbox comes from the Grand Comics Database and is used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence. That data is contributed by volunteers and is offered as-is — it may be incomplete or occasionally wrong, and automatic matching can pick the wrong edition. You can always correct it yourself in the app.
Longbox may offer optional paid features. If it does, they're sold through the App Store, and Apple's own terms cover billing, renewals, and refunds. Prices and what's included may change; we'll give reasonable notice before changing anything you're already paying for.
We do our best to keep syncing and lookups working, but we don't promise the service will always be available or error-free. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of it. Your comics and your local reading progress live on your device and remain readable even if our servers go away entirely — that's deliberate.
Longbox is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't guarantee that metadata is accurate, that syncing will never lose data, or that the app will suit any particular purpose. Keep your own backups of files you care about.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Longbox, including lost data or lost reading progress. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.
You can stop using Longbox and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms — typically only after warning you, unless the situation is serious.
This agreement is between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Longbox or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we'll notify you in the app if a change is significant.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
